A sober living home allows an individual struggling with addiction to be supported and encouraged throughout their recovery process. A recovery community and peer support is essential for achieving long-term sobriety. The early stages of recovery can be emotionally and physically challenging. Deciding to get sober, and stay sober, is no easy feat, thus there will be bad days.

Proudly providing a community-driven, structured approach to sobriety for young men and transforming families lives in the South Bay for over 35 years. It’s been a privilege to witness the growth of New Life Warehouse since its inception. What stands out most is not just the number of people the organization serves, but also the remarkable opportunities it creates for our community to get involved. Having been involved in service organizations for many years, I’m truly impressed by New Life Warehouse’s ability to unite people in serving others.

  • They guide our mission as accomplished individuals dedicated to improving the landscape of addiction recovery and mental wellness.
  • I’m so grateful to work shoulder-to-shoulder with so many loving people to share God’s love in a practical way.

Addiction Treatment and Beyond

Each of our team members has extensive experience in the treatment of addiction and mental health disorders and is ready to help you achieve a fulfilling life of sobriety—one step at a time. The goal at each of our sober living houses is to help our members maintain their sobriety when they graduate from one of our sober living houses. Friends and family of house members are encouraged to learn about the structure and philosophies of our sober living in order to help their loved ones continue to use these tools on the outside. Staying sober is a lifelong process that starts at Granada House.

We believe that it takes the personal experience of someone who has recovered from drug abuse to know what it takes to break the cycle of substance abuse and identify with the individual. This personal connection can make all the difference in the world when it comes to learning to live a healthy lifestyle in sobriety. A halfway house in Los Angeles, California, such as the ones offered through Granada House hires qualified and caring staff. Additionally, the staff monitors the daily activity of the residents and provides crucial encouragement and support. Lastly, we offer powerful resources and vital education programs to residents. These help individuals develop the skills needed to keep their lives moving in a positive direction.

Our recovery housing takes this approach to a number of different aspects of life, which allows the guys to safely achieve independence while practicing the skills necessary for thriving on their own. From academics to recreation, the men in Granada House can build rich, full lives with improved mental health, free from substance abuse. Creating structured programs allow our young men to gain independence, learn life skills and create a network of support while working towards a life they love. I started volunteering with New Life Warehouse shortly after it began, after hearing about it through my church. I serve as the Deliveries Coordinator, which means I get to connect with our amazing team of volunteers to help organize and schedule deliveries for the families we serve. I absolutely love the community here and the friendships I’ve built along the way.

  • Established structured sober living provides a distraction-free environment without having to pass by the dealer’s house, endure toxic relationships, or be tempted to party.
  • Lives are being transformed; not just the families we serve but also every one of us who volunteer.
  • Deciding to get sober, and stay sober, is no easy feat, thus there will be bad days.
  • Rather than establish a set of rules and expect residents to follow them, we have built a system that teaches residents why certain processes are in place.

The following are the main aims of sober living for young addicts:

Many traditional sober living is simply an environment where someone can go to sleep, live, and get drug tested once a week. Next, several sober living claims to be “structured sober living,” with some light house scheduling, potentially a weekly house meeting, and some general guidelines that residents must follow. They think that a collaborative approach is necessary for your son’s recovery. At every step of the journey, their family program structure is designed to offer assistance, direction, and wisdom. Join our global mission of connecting patients with addiction and mental health treatment. In the early 1990s, many families of teenagers and young men approached Granada House to help address their son’s addictions.

That’s ok, we’re consistently adding new forms of media delivery. Learn more about all the ways to experience Granada House of Prayer. When not at one of the South Bay houses, you can find Dave supporting the Stanley Cup Champions the Los Angeles Kings. If it’s football season he will be sitting at home watching the Cornhuskers.

Individual Treatment

Our mission is to help everyone find the best path to recovery through the most comprehensive, helpful network of treatment providers worldwide. Granada House has been recognized nationally by professionals in recovery as a model for structured sober living in Los Angeles. At our sober living homes for men in Los Angeles, we incorporate the entire family into the structured recovery process. I’ve had the joy of serving on the Board of New Life Warehouse since its inception. My first experience with New LIfe Warehouse was serving as a volunteer to stage furniture for new clients. The mission is clear, the logistics are solid, and the impact is so tangible.

Individuals are also encouraged to interact with their families during this time, as well as search for job opportunities in L.A. He has worked in nearly all roles of residential treatment including primary counselor, case manager, admissions director, business development, clinical director and executive director. Lance has been participating with New Life for 2 years, and says that some of his best memories have been from his involvement at the houses.

We put mental health first and have phenomenal aftercare programming, as well as an amazing clinical wrap-around component providing individual and group therapy, health and wellness education, and more. Unlike other rehab aftercare centers and sober living homes, New Life Hosue uses a peer-grouping method that helps those in recovery connect with individuals going through the same life experiences. Peer grouping means creating sober living houses geared towards specific age groups so the young men can better relate with one another.

Returning Volunteers

Different SLEs have different house rules designed to help residents remain sober. Rather than establish a set of rules and expect residents to follow them, we have built a system that teaches residents why certain processes are in place. As well, we explain why each of them is so important for long-term mental health, recovery success, and different aspects of life.

Merging my passion for decorating with my Granada House Review heart for service felt like a dream come true! I love how many volunteers it takes each week to come together to help our community. Where else can you change the trajectory of a life and still be done by noon on a Saturday? I’m so grateful to work shoulder-to-shoulder with so many loving people to share God’s love in a practical way.

Additionally, some halfway houses provide transportation to outside appointments, such as therapy sessions, medical appointments, and 12-Step meetings. They may also provide aftercare options, including access to support from staff members after the person has left the home. In fact, many former residents return to offer their own insight, as well as guidance to those now living in the home. Most halfway houses employ knowledgeable and compassionate staff who are able to monitor the daily activity of the residents.
